Governor Christie signed legislation that has brought some changes to the laws concerning certain fireworks here in the Garden State.

According to our original report, ground-based sparklers, party poppers, and snappers are now legal to purchase and possess in New Jersey, while airborne fireworks are still illegal. This, of course, is a change from New Jersey's previous stance, which stated that all fireworks were illegal to buy and use.

The law went into effect on Wednesday and is only applicable for customers 16 years of age and older.

You can learn about the details of the new law HERE.

Most agree it's best to let professionals handle fireworks.
