Hot on the heels of a story we brought you only two weeks ago of two people being struck by lightning in Point Pleasant Beach, we have another story today of a lucky lighting survivor at the shore.

According to ABC News, 16-year-old Ethan Riozzi-Bodine was riding his bike in Bradley Beach this past week when we had those heavy storms on Monday.

As the storm rolled in, he stopped to take video of the lightning that was striking the water nearby.

As Ethan filmed, a lightning bolt got terrifyingly close seconds before the next one struck within feet of him.

He tells ABC News,

He was taken to the emergency room and thankfully survived without major injury.

It's a good reminder that if you can hear thunder, it's time to go indoors. Summer storms can be cool to watch, but watching from the shelter of a structure is the only truly safe way to watch!
