Monday was Columbus Day so we decided to take a road trip and just see what we run into. Little bit of gas, comfy clothes and coffee and away we went. I must say now at 47 my idea of a "roadtrip" has changed a bit lol , but the idea of taking a nice drive...to me , is relaxing. Some look at todays roadways as stressful, but we have alot nice "quiet" roads here in Jersey to take advantage of :)

Our Destination was the eclectic town of Smithville. If you've never been its a fun little place with historic shops, restaurants and lots of collectibles. The famous "Smithville Inn" is there too....and I love brunch there. If your heading to Smithville for the day take the Garden State Parkway South and take exit 48 , then follow Route 9 south til you hit the town. By the way right near Smithville is the legendary town of Leeds Point...So this Hallowen if you wanna go looking for the "Jersey Devil" this would be a perfect time .. Just be careful !

What makes a roadtrip fun for me is snapping photos of unique stuff you find along the way. Look at this guy! FrankenPot ? FrankenGarden ? A nice twist on Halloween that one of the shops had on display, not your average decor lol What do you think, do you like FrakenPottery ?

One true sign of "Fall" is the Mums! Every time you see this sight you know its October.....and a good cup of coffee is in order! Shops around Smithville have plenty of Fall decor to enjoy, one of the nice things about this place is it usually features the current season and its decor ( Fall, Winter/Holidays, Spring, Summer ) Nice for a walk through on a lazy day. Your sure to come home with something unique :)

On the way home I spotted this little church, kinda neat .... the size was intriguing because it was so small. The width was tiny, but it was deep. There is something about churches ( of all religions ) that are interesting to photograph ..... See you on our next roadtrip :)
