Nicole Murray from our sister station, 94.3 the Point shared the news that Costco is getting rid of their 12 x 16 half-sheet cakes. You know, the ones that were at practically every gathering. The frosting was the best part - I could probably eat all the frosting off one cake alone (please note, I never tried that, and now it looks like I'll never be able to).

The announcement was originally made on Costco's Facebook page. The store posted about their 10" round cakes, and added that "half sheet cakes are currently not available to order or customize." Check out the post below:

Nicole's article explains that Costco shared the reasoning behind getting rid of the cakes in a Facebook comment that states: "To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing, Costco has reduced service in some departments. At this time, we are not making sheet cakes for special order. Thank you for understanding.”

As of now, there is no word on when the yummy cakes will return, but we can hope that they will be back one day! I definitely understand the need for safety in this situation, so as sad as it is to see these cakes go, it's probably for the best.

At the very least, it is one less diet ruining temptation out there. But it's still sad!
