Runyan Exploring Federal Aid for Seaside

Following an up-close glimpse at the havoc wreaked on the Seaside Park and Heights boardwalk during Thursday's blaze, Representative Jon Runyan (R-3) embarked on ways to draw federal financial support to beleaguered business owners.

In a statement released today, Runyan called it an "absolute tragedy" for the community, residents and businesses who rebounded so rapidly from the Superstorm.

"I have been in contact with several government agencies," said Runyan, "determining how federal assistance can be provided to Seaside."

The Republican also met with police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians who have been on alert since the flames erupted Thursday afternoon.

He concluded with, "I can assure you that I will fight to ensure that Seaside rebuilds stronger than ever before.”
