It’s Not Summer in New Jersey Unless You’ve Had One of These, It’s a Tradition
You can keep your fancy summer desserts. Give me a hot Jersey Shore day, the smell of the boardwalk, the ocean breeze and a Kohr's orange and vanilla swirl that starts melting down my hand before I even get halfway through it.

That, my friends, is summer in New Jersey.
The Taste That Screams Jersey Shore
There are certain foods that just taste like summer.
A slice of boardwalk pizza. French fries eaten straight from the paper bag. A sausage and pepper sandwich. Maybe some saltwater taffy for the ride home. And then there's Kohr's orange and vanilla swirl.
Some people call it an orange-vanilla twist. Others call it an orange creamsicle. Whatever you call it, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
That beautiful combination of creamy vanilla and sweet, slightly tangy orange is one of those flavors that immediately takes you back. Back to the boardwalk. Back to summer vacations. Back to walking around in a bathing suit and flip-flops with your hair still wet from the ocean.
And, of course, back to trying desperately to eat your Kohr's before it melts all over your fingers.
You Know It's a Hot Day When Your Cone Is Melting Down Your Hand
Let's be honest: the melting is part of the experience. You order that perfect orange-and-vanilla swirl, take the first bite and think, Ohhh, yeah. Then you look down. It's already running down the side of the cone.
You lick one side. It's dripping down the other.
Now you're walking faster, trying to keep up with the melting custard while someone in your family is laughing because they're having the exact same problem.
That's not a problem. That's summer.
And somehow, it tastes even better when you're standing outside on a ridiculously hot August afternoon with the sun beating down and the boardwalk buzzing around you.
Every Jersey Family Seems to Have a Kohr's Memory
That's what makes this treat so special. It's not just about the orange and vanilla. It's about where you were when you ate it.
Maybe your parents bought you one when you were little. Maybe you remember getting one after spending the day at the beach. Maybe your kids now insist on stopping for one every time you hit the boardwalk.
Kohr's has been part of the Jersey Shore summer tradition for generations, with the original business dating back more than a century and the Shore stands becoming a familiar part of the boardwalk experience.
It's That Perfect Orange Creamsicle Flavor
There's something about the combination that just works. The vanilla is creamy and smooth. The orange gives it that bright citrus flavor. Together, it's sweet, refreshing and somehow nostalgic all at once.
That's a whole different experience.
You Can Find Kohr's Up and Down the Jersey Shore
Kohr's has become a familiar sight along Jersey Shore boardwalks and beach communities, including places such as Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, Lavallette, Ortley Beach and Point Pleasant Beach, while Kohr Bros. locations are found farther south as well.
And wherever you find that familiar sign, you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. A line. A cone. A whole lot of happiness.
Summer Isn't Over Yet
Here's the thing. There are still hot afternoons ahead. There are still beach days, boardwalk nights, sunsets and those evenings when you don't want to go home because summer somehow feels like it's going way too fast.

So if you haven't had your Kohr's orange and vanilla swirl yet this summer, what are you waiting for?
And if you already had one?
Well...
You probably need another.
Because that's the rule. So grab one while summer is still here.
