Monmouth County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and prosecution of swatting suspects, the organization announced Wednesday.

The hoax calls to police are designed to generate a major respond from multiple law enforcement agencies, including a SWAT team.

Since March, there have been 38 swatting incidents in Monmouth County, according to Prosecutor's Office spokesman Charlie Webster.

There have been a rash of False Public Alarm incidents statewide, including at schools, hospitals, malls and even private residences.

A number of the prank calls have been reported in the Holmdel and Princeton areas. Municipal authorities have been receiving help investigating the hoaxes from the FBI in New Jersey.
