It shouldn't be surprising at all when we hear something closes in New Jersey and around the country. It's sad.

I remember when I used to use these all the time. I think we all did.

DVD's are a thing of the past. Unfortunately because of the Smart TV and almost every movie can be found now streaming.

Who needs a DVD player now? The answer is no one. Yes, it's simple for us, but unfortunately businesses we all used for the DVD's have closed. Remember Blockbuster and Sun Video?

It's real simple to watch a movie on our Smart TV's and our streaming servicing. We have Netflix, Apple TV, Prime, and so many more. And, some of these streaming services bring us new movies that are in theaters right now. We never have to wait to see that movie in a theater, let alone waiting for a DVD to be ready to watch.

What Closed in More than 50 New Jersey Towns?

Do you remember when we would stand in line with a giant red box for DVD's. It was called Redbox. Redbox is bankrupt because basically we don't need them anymore.

Remember getting that perfect movie for family and friends and going to your local supermarket. Ours was always at our ShopRite.

Believe it or not, Redbox is still around if you're lucky enough to see the big red box. They still have thousands and thousands of them across the country and many in New Jersey. However, they are no becoming as nostalgic as Blockbuster.

The company that owns Redbox filed for bankruptcy.

The Verge reports that they defaulted on loans, had company vehicles repossessed, weren’t paying employees and let employees’ health benefits lapse. Will this affect RedBox locations in New Jersey. Most likely, yes.

I haven't seen a RedBox in a while near me. Are there any RedBox kiosks in Ocean or Monmouth County anymore?
