Prisoner Escapes from Burlington County Jail

Police in Burlington County spent Saturday searching for an escaped prisoner.

Officials say Michael Mimms, 28, was still handcuffed when he ran away while being transported to the County Jail around 8:30am. He was also not wearing any shoes at the time.

He was last seen running on High Street in Mount Holly.

Mimms is described as a black man, 5'10 tall and weighing 160 lbs. He was wearing handcuffs attached to a belt, a dark, multicolored T-shirt, dark basketball shorts and brown socks. Anyone who sees him should call 911.
