Popular Jersey Shore Restaurant Closes After 85 Years
A longtime Jersey Shore favorite has closed with little fanfare or publicity.
My colleague Liz Jeressi on our sister station 94.3 The Point noticed that Jack's Tavern on 10th Avenue in Belmar not only closed, but the signs have even been removed:
According to Jack's Facebook page, the Belmar mainstay had been in business since 1934 and has been a favorite of both locals and visitors for generations.
Just in December, news came out that Beach Haus Brewery, which is right around the corner on Main Street in Belmar, has been approved to take over Jack's liquor license and has more plans in the works for the space.
We'll of course keep you updated as we hear more. My thanks to Liz for being on top of the story!
