Police investigate death of fetus at Camden recycling plant
Camden County authorities are investigating the death of a deceased fetus that was discovered on a conveyor belt of a recycling plant Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, police responded to "ReCommunity Camden, a recycling plant on the 2200 block of Mount Ephraim Avenue, after an employee discovered a deceased fetus on a conveyor belt at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday."
Authorities were unable to determine the gender of the fetus during the initial investigation, the press release stated. Police are also trying to determine the cause of death.
"The cause and manner of death are unknown at this time," the Prosecutor's Office stated. "An autopsy is planned for Friday."
