One Person Killed in Garden State Parkway Crash Thursday Morning

One person is dead following a serious crash on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May County Thursday morning.

NJ.com reports the accident happened on the northbound side of the highway just after 8AM near the Cape May Toll Plaza in Dennis Township.

Video from WPVI-TV showed one car sitting on its side and another badly damaged.

Trooper Charles Marchan with the New Jersey State Police told NJ.com, "There is one confirmed fatality. The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available at the moment."

As of Thursday afternoon, the identity of the victim had not been released.

Crews spent several hours investigating the scene and clearing the roadway.
