You'll always remember the first time you had to pump gas outside New Jersey. And now you'll remember this Jersey Girl's unfortunate experience too.

The other night I was browsing Instagram, and the gem of a page New Jersey Memes shared this TikTok of user @nessybabyyy filling up her tank for the first time. The results were unfortunate, yet hilarious.

When you watch, keep in mind these questions. First, how did she not realize she was using diesel? The pump is clearly distinct from the gasoline ones - and it's so much more expensive! Second, at what point did she realize she did something wrong? Was it when she first started pumping, or did she notice something was off when she tried to turn her car on? And third - did the gas station make her pay for the diesel?

If you were also wondering why an entire tow truck had to rescue her from this situation, JD Power says:

Since diesel fuel is thicker and denser than gasoline, the fuel pump will struggle to move the diesel/gasoline mixture through the system. Also, the diesel will not be able to easily pass through the fuel filter. Instead, it will clog up the fuel filter. And whatever amount of diesel that then makes its way to the engine will clog the fuel injectors, making them inoperable.

That sounds terrible. But don't worry, @nessybabyyy. I also have had my share of embarrassing gas-pumping moments. One time, I was in Texas and I maybe spent 10 minutes trying to pump my gas until I asked a man next to me for help (who was originally from New Jersey!) and all I needed to do was to push a lever down that was under the gas pump when you removed the nozzle.
