Ocean County Talks Truth about Vaccines

The Ocean County Health Department is hosting a free presentation entitled "The Truth about Vaccines."

The talk will feature guest speakers on topics ranging from vaccine myths to the process used to audit schools for vaccination compliance.  Health Department spokeswoman Leslie Terjesen says it's important to have the correct information.

"There's a lot of myths that are not true," Terjesen said.  "Vaccines save lives.  Vaccines save children's lives."

Terjesen says medical professionals, childcare workers, and parents are all encouraged to attend Tuesday's talk, but they're not the only ones.

"We do an awful lot with our faith-based leaders in Ocean County," Terjesen said.  "We know that people listen to their minister, their priest, their rabbi... It's a good way to get information out."

The free talk is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Ocean County College's Grunin Center for the Arts Building 12.  Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8:30am, with the presentation itself from 9am until noon.
