Spring Is Almost Here And So Is The St. Patty’s Parade
I think we would all agree that this winter can’t end soon enough and while the calendar says spring is still two weeks away we are about to get a few days that will let us know nice weather is right around the corner. That means outdoor events dot the calendar starting with Saturday’s Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Seaside Heights. While it won’t be 70 degrees and sunny it will be better than what we have experienced for most of this winter. Always a fun event with marching bands and more it’s bound to be a boom for bars and restaurants from Lavallette to South Seaside Park. By the way the grand marshal for the parade is Sam Hammer, the owner of the popular Crab’s Claw Inn…a nice honor for a great friend.
The weather delayed Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside Heights has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 14 giving the resort town back-to-back huge weekend events.
Don’t look now but Easter Sunday is just four weeks away and by then this miserable winter will just be a forgotten memory.
Spring will also highlight some of the amazing talent we have in our local high schools when it comes to music and more. Most schools put on a play or musical and for a nominal fee you will be entertained and wowed at how good these kids are. The Eastside Theater Company at Toms River High School East presents Ronald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on March 19, 20 & 21 with all three shows at 7pm. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. See the poster below for how to purchase and I urge you to support the Eastside Theater Company and all the other spring productions put on by our area high schools as they are fantastic.
