Ocean County Doctor Killed In Florida Plane Crash

STUART – A doctor that practiced in Ocean County has been killed in a plane crash on Friday afternoon, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office. 

Dr. Joseph Masessa was killed while he was preparing for an airshow this weekend when his plane crashed on a runway extension on Whitham Field. 

Masessa was a dermatologist in Toms River and Manahawkin and had other practices throughout the state.  

The National Traffic Safety Board is reviewing the incident and working in conjunction with local investigators to come to a definite conclusion on what caused the crash.
