Ocean County Diner Spotlight: ACME Draft House in Bayville

I guess that we can call this the Mother’s Day edition of “Ocean County Diner Spotlight”, as the diner that we have in the spotlight today is one of my mother’s favorite! ACME Draft House in the Shoprite Plaza in Bayville has been around for some time and they have managed to take a lot that historically never had success – into an eatery and bar that draws hundreds from surrounding towns in Ocean County.

So before I dive into why ACME Draft House is awesome and I totally recommend it, I have a feeling that I am going to catch some flak because there are some discrepancies between what a ‘restaurant’ and a ‘diner’ is –

Diner [noun]: in the US, a small informal and inexpensive restaurant, often at the side of the road.

So now that we got that cleared up and confirmed that ACME Draft House in Bayville is, in fact, a diner, here we go!

I will admit, this is one of my favorite places to be writing about because ACME is the only diner that I have written about that has a bar! I am not a huge drinker, but when I am at the Draft House, I can't help but get a drink because the bartenders are not only pleasant and friendly, but they know how to do their job. I can't tell you how many times I have been to a place and they have over (or under) poured on drinks making a rum and coke taste like all rum (or all coke). So needless to say after you have a long day if you want to get a drink, I totally recommend heading over to the Draft House.

One of my favorite things about this diner is the service and atmosphere. They are very friendly, and will always do what they can to make you feel comfortable. Unlike traditional diners, the Draft House has televisions everywhere, even on some tables so you can enjoy your meal while watching sports, the Food Network, of The Walking Dead! ACME also has some of the fastest services around, even when they are busy, you will likely not be waiting over a half hour for your food to come out.

The food is great, too! They have a very wide selection of entrees to choose from, but my current favorite is the Fish & Chips Platter. They do something different with the batter which makes it delicious...  and I have yet to figure it out. The Seafood Bisque soup is also one of my go-to's when I eat at the Draft House, they make it better than my dad (don't tell him). I cannot stress enough that ACME Draft House has the best flippin' mozzarella sticks around! I don't know what they do, but they're always SOOO good.
