In the continuing battle against the COVID-19 coronavirus, Ocean County officials made the decision on Tuesday (March 31st) to close all of the county's parks until further notice.

In a Tuesday afternoon press release, Ocean County Freeholder Virginia E. Haines of the decision, "...it’s important we take this step to further protect our citizens from the spread of the coronavirus.” 

The closure takes effect at 6 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31st and will continue until further notice.

The statement goes on to note that the Ocean County Sheriff's Department will be patrolling the county's parks to enforce the order.
