Obama To Address Group Formed From ’12 Campaign
President Barack Obama is addressing donors and Democratic activists who are raising money for a new group formed out of his re-election campaign.
Obama is headlining a two-day meeting of Organizing for Action, a nonprofit group created by former Obama campaign aides and White House advisers this year. The group is raising millions of dollars from donors to rally support for issues like gun control, immigration reform and climate change.
The White House has said Obama will meet with members of the group periodically but denies that high-dollar contributors will get quarterly meetings with the president.
Donors will hear from former Obama aides Jim Messina and David Plouffe during a "founders summit." Obama will speak during a dinner tonight.
