MARLBORO — A school bus with five children on board was caught on video speeding along Route 18 at upwards of 80 mph.

The video shows the car's speedometer at about 80 mph. The car is heading south in the right lane between Routes 537 and 79 around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The small bus with "302" on the back is ahead of him in the left lane. The car driver pulls nearly even with the bus before it pulls away.

"I normally drive around 70 but I found him flying with kids jumping and standing inside the bus," the man said in an interview with New Jersey 101.5. He did not want his name used in this story.

The posted speed limit in that area of Route 18, a two-lane highway with a wide grass median, is 65 mph.

The bus had the name "Shamrock Stage Coach" written on the side. According to the website businessfindernj.com, the company was founded in 1992 and is located on Main Street in Keansburg.

"We make sure that our buses are always clean. We regularly check our buses because we value your safety," reads a description of the business.

Linda Cott, who identified herself as a manager, told New Jersey 101.5 that she would "definitely check this out and straighten it out. It is my bus and my driver, I'm definitely gonna take care of it."

The driver could be suspended, according to Cott.

It's the second time a driver for the bus company Shamrock Stage Coach was caught on video this fall in violation of the law. A driver was recorded texting while behind the wheel of a bus in Old Bridge. Cott said that driver was suspended.

The Motor Vehicle Commission's School Bus Inspection Reporting System says Shamrock had an out-of-service failure rate of 51 percent and an initial inspection passing rate of 38 percent.

The buses failed their initial re-inspections for defective exterior warning equipment, emissions, exterior lights, underbody issues and an unspecified issue with the under the hood.
