America’s Worst City for a Good Night’s Sleep, It’s in New Jersey
If you thought New York was the city that never sleeps, think again. The worst town for sleeping is in NEW JERSEY.

According to a new study, Newark, New Jersey, has officially been crowned the toughest place in the nation to catch some decent shut-eye.
Why Newark Tops the Sleep-Struggle List
Researchers ranked Newark as the No. 1 “worst city for sleep” in the United States, pointing to sky-high levels of noise pollution and heavy light exposure that keep residents tossing and turning at night. The city recorded the highest average noise levels of any urban area in the study, as well as the fourth-highest light pollution scores.
The analysis was conducted by Mood, a federally legal cannabis company, which created a sleep index based on three main factors: noise levels, nighttime light interference, and reported anxiety levels. Data came from multiple federal sources, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Earth Observation Group, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
While Newark landed at the bottom of the list, a few quieter cities fared much better. The report highlighted Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, along with Chesapeake, Virginia, as the nation’s top three most sleep-friendly spots, all of which benefit from lower noise, dimmer skies, and reduced stress levels among residents.
