A True Jersey Classic

Deli sandwiches are possibly the best lunch meal on earth. Think about it—a delicious deli sandwich, pickle, and a few chips on the side, perfection for lunch. We all have our favorite combos for a sandwich but Lovefood was looking for the best "beef" sandwich in each state to give us a "best" list in America.

According to Lovefood, "There's nothing quite like a beef sandwich – whichever way you slice it. The famous Rueben on rye from New York? Fabulous. The Italian beef on a baguette from Illinois? Delicious. Cheesesteak in a hoagie from Pennsylvania? Mouth-watering."

So what about our selection for New Jersey? Do you love "Sloppy Joe's"? Are you thinking about a traditional "Sloppy Joe"? Ground beef, red sauce, and bun? because that is the "other" Joe. The sandwich that was selected is the cold version and it's a completely different type of sandwich. The best "Sloppy Joe" is found in Essex County in the town of Millburn (and various locations).

The Millburn Deli is described as "rye bread stuffed with three kinds of beef and three kinds of ham, not to mention cheese, coleslaw, and dressing." For the cold "Sloppy Joe" I had used a Thousand Island or Russian-type salad dressing on it. It really is a good sandwich but totally different from its "hot" cousin. In addition, "The cherry on top is how Millburn cuts its sloppy Joes into three triangles."

So have you had a cold Sloppy Joe? Give us your review and post your comments below. Now let's all go out to lunch :)
