  • NJ Residents Warned of Tax Scam Tied to ANCHOR Rebate Checks

According to a Patch article, there are scams put there targeting your rebate. "Residents across the state have been receiving text messages from the 'New Jersey Department of Taxation' that they are at risk of losing tax refunds. Here’s the real issue: The New Jersey Department of Taxation does not exist."

The TEXT is phony and part of a scam. The criminals are attempting to get your banking information and rob you of your savings. Again, there is NO "New Jersey Department of Taxation"; this agency DOES NOT EXIST.

If you receive this text, DO NOT click on the link provided. DO NOT share personal information and report the text; report it to the Federal Trade Commission online here.
