Thursday. August 6th Is National Fresh Breath Day

I think we have all encountered someone who needs a bit of dental hygiene. The person who scares vampires with their breath.

Let's face it, nobody likes bad breath. We've all been talking to someone when their breath hits you, and your first thought is, "Whoa!" It can make a conversation awkward fast.

Bad breath is hard to ignore, and whether it's from coffee, garlic, smoking, or just not brushing well enough, it leaves a bad impression. The good news? In most cases, it's easy to avoid with good brushing, flossing, drinking plenty of water, and regular trips to the dentist.

Fresh breath goes a long way. It's one of those little things that makes being around other people a whole lot more pleasant.

A New Survey Ranks States With The Worst Breath!

According to a survey by The Action Network, the state with the worst breath is Missouri. The state with the best breath is Utah.

5. Arkansas
4. Tennessee
3. Kentucky
2. West Virginia
1. Missouri

How Does New Jersey Rank Regarding Fresh Breath?

Good news for New Jersey: only 9 states have fresher breath, so we are in the Top ten best states with fresh breath!

Here are some KEY takeaways from The Action Network survey:

  • New Jersey's 13.7% adult smoking rate sits more than three points below the 16.9% national average.
  • 29.3% of New Jersey adults skipped a dental visit in the past year, nearly four points below the 33.1% national average.
  • New Jersey's Bad Breath Index Score of 35.59 (rank #42) puts it in the bottom third of the country.
  • New Jersey's alcohol consumption rate of 2.55 gallons per capita sits almost exactly at the national average, making it the most "average" factor on the Garden State's card.

I am pretty strict about brushing. I do it 3 times a day with mouthwash several times too. I try to floss daily as well.
