Big Data Breach Hits East Coast—Thousands of Americans Impacted
Thousands were affected by the Big Pharma data breach, including residents in New Jersey. This could be affecting you.

What is a data breach?
So what exactly is a data breach? It’s basically when someone who shouldn’t have access gets into a system and grabs private info, your name, passwords, credit card numbers, and even medical records.
Think of it like someone sneaking into your house and going through your personal stuff…except it’s all happening online. And yeah, it’s as frustrating and concerning as it sounds.
What Are The Worst Affects Of Being A Victim Of A Data Breach?
Your info gets out, and suddenly you’re dealing with things like identity theft or random charges you didn’t make. Then comes the headache of fixing it, calls, passwords, accounts…all of it. It’s not just a tech problem; it messes with your money, your privacy, and your peace of mind all at once.
According to The Daily Hodl, "A long-term care pharmacy serving New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia suffered a security incident that potentially compromised the data of thousands of people. IPPC Inc. and its affiliated entities, IPPC of New York LLC and Innovative Pharmacy LLC, say that an unknown actor accessed the company’s technical network between September 18th and 19th."
So what does this mean to you?
"IPPC says that the breach exposed a trove of personal and medical data, which include name, Social Security number, medical information and health insurance information."
- Watch for incidents of identity theft
- Keep a watch for fraud
- Review your account statements
- Monitor free credit reports for suspicious activity and to detect errors.
According to The Daily Hodl, "Suspicious activity should be promptly reported to relevant parties, including an insurance company, healthcare provider, and/or financial institution."
Around 133,862 individuals could be affected. I think we have all been the victim of spam calls, emails, and at times phony charges or attempts from criminals to get into our accounts.
Stay up on your passwords and be aware if strange incidents happen with your accounts.
