The vague announcement comes in a press release headlined "NASA to announce Mars Mystery Solved" but offers no other details about the briefing.

CNN reports the announcement likely centers on evidence of life once existing on the planet.

The Odyssey spacecraft, which completed its 60,000 orbit since entering Mars' orbit in 2001, discovered widespread water ice just beneath the surface of the Red Planet during its mission. The Curiosity rover continues sending pictures from the Martian surface.
