New Jersey’s Best Bakeries: Your Best List for Holiday Treats

It is now a full-blown holiday season, and it's a time to enjoy a lot of delicious food. We can worry about hitting the gym on January 2nd. It began with the candies of Halloween and then shifted to the turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie of Thanksgiving. Now, we head into the Christmas season, and with that comes the Christmas cookies, cakes, pastries, and pies.

For me, Christmas cookies are a favorite. Whether it is a classic sugar cookie or a gingerbread man, Christmas cookies are a delicious part of the holiday season. I'm currently leaning toward gingerbread cookies. If you have a bakery here in New Jersey that you think makes the best gingerbread cookies, please let me know so I can pay them a visit. I'm not sure why, but this Christmas, I love gingerbread.

Another Christmas season dessert I must admit I do like, in small portions, is the infamous fruitcake. I know the fruitcake is the butt of many holiday jokes, but I enjoy it from time to time. I'll even toast it and add a little bit of butter to it. Fruitcake reminds me of carrot cake with a few extras (dried fruit and nuts). If you have always avoided fruitcake because of its reputation try a piece this Christmas, you may just like it.

In a recent article from NJ.com, they listed quite a few fantastic bakeries for the holidays. In fact, they listed 71 of the BEST bakeries for you to check out here in New Jersey for the holiday season.
