Multiple crews called in to help douse flames at Seaside Park home
Investigators are tracing the source of a Monday afternoon home fire in Seaside Park, although police say it appears to be electrical, according to the Asbury Park Press.
The fire roared through the back of an O Street home and police say it's no longer livable.
A 9-1-1 caller who phoned in the fire around 2:20 pm spotted some black smoke.
The Ocean County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the fire.
There are no injuries being reported and it's not known if anybody was inside the house at the time.
No other homes or property sustained any damage from the blaze.
As hot as it was on Monday afternoon, there was a little breeze coming off the oceanfront along Island Beach State Park and the surrounding beaches.
The Island Heights Volunteer Fire Co. 1 were among the first responders to the fire.
They established a water supply for one of their trucks and went to work as roof operations venting the roof for suppression crews on the inside.
Crews from Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Seaside Heights Fire Dept., Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Company - NJ, and Lavallette Fire Department also arrived on the scene and were able to quickly bring the fire under control limiting the damage to the home.
