Two car accidents along slick roads in New Jersey town on Wednesday afternoon
There was some unpleasant weather moving across New Jersey on Wednesday and it led to some slick roads including in Stafford Township where police said two separate accidents occurred.
The first of the two reported accidents on Wednesday occurred around 12:40 pm.
Stafford Police said that 41-year-old Aaron Osborne of Barnegat Township was heading north along Route 9 near Marybel Road in a 2018 Chevy Equinox when his vehicle "lost traction with the road resulting in his vehicle running off the road and crashing into multiple trees."
Osborne was brought to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin for treatment of a minor injury following the single vehicle crash, according to police.
It was shortly after this crash that another one was reported along the same stretch and location of roadway in the township.
Police said in this crash, 38-year old Alyssa Papiez of Waretown was driving and crashed into the back of a Chevy Impala being driven at the time by 65-year old Jena Rogers of Barnegat Township.
Rogers had been slowing down at the time, police said, due to traffic following the single vehicle crash Osborne was involved in moments earlier.
In this crash, neither driver was injured, and police said that both of the vehicles were removed from the scene.
The Stafford Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau investigated both of the Wednesday afternoon car accidents.
