FLORENCE — A man who was found with a gunshot wound in South Jersey is now facing criminal charges after he was found to have a weapon and drugs in his car.

Police were responding to a call of shots fired on the afternoon of March 1 when they found a vehicle matching the identity of one that had reportedly left the scene of the shooting. At that time the Burlington City Police Department found Eugene Greshan Jr. of Beverly suffering from a gunshot wound.

Greshan was taken to a local trauma center and was found with what was believed to be heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. His car was impounded by the Florence Township Police who received a search warrant for the vehicle. Police said they found a stolen gun, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia as a result of the search warrant.

Police said Greshan was found on Monday in Cinnaminson thanks to a combined effort including the U.S. Marshals, the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, and the Burlington County Sheriff's Department Fugitive Unit.

After his arrest, Greshan was taken to the Florence department for processing where he was charged with possession of a firearm while attempting to commit a drug transaction, possession of a firearm for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police said Greshan was also charged with theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with an intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing facility, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon among other charges.

Greshan was taken to the Burlington County Jail pending a court date.
