A stench filled the air and melted plastic and debris on the ground Sunday morning.

Monmouth Beach Police said that someone put a rolling office chair into the porta-jon at Griffin Street Park and set it on fire around 1:15 am Sunday morning.

In addition to destroying the porta-john itself, police said the fire also caused minor damage to the baseball dugout right next to where it occurred.

If you know who did it or have any other information that can help crack the case, call Monmouth Beach Police at 732-229-1313.
