Middletown man on lawnmower dies after being hit by a car

Middletown Police continue investigating a fatal crash involving a man riding a lawnmower on Monday afternoon around 1:04 pm.

Police say a car struck a commercial riding mower in the southbound lane of the road near Middletown Lincroft Road and Storm Road.

The driver of the vehicle was unharmed in the accident.

Police say the name of the operator of the landscaping equipment is not being released at this time, neither is the driver of the vehicle.

The crash is still under investigation.
