Petty Officer 2nd Class Masaaki Davis is a surface sonar technician aboard the missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88), which returned to its San Diego home port in November after deployment in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

According to Navy officials, the Preble's 509-foot length, 59-foot width and 9,400-ton displacement renders it quick, maneuverable and flexible for surface warfare as well as defenses against submarines and aircraft.
