Let me first say that I am one of the biggest Star Wars fans nerds in the galaxy. My Star Wars: The Last Jedi adventure started on opening night with some of my friends. We actually were in the first showing in the theatre (yes, I'm bragging). I actually ended up going to see the movie three times again over the past week to try and find easter eggs, stuff I missed, etc.

  • I have been saying for the past year that I am ready for Disney to put their stupid twist on the movie and it finally happened. When General Organa (Princess Leia) and the "senior leadership" were blown up by Kylo Ren, I was like "okay, that's a great way to go" - but no. Leia uses the force to bring herself to safety aboard the ship... Don't get me wrong, I GET what the writers were trying to capture (the fact that Leia also had the force like her brother Luke), but still - it seemed too unrealistic for me.
  • I can admit, the last battle scene was absolutely amazing. I am going to be upfront and say that I wasn't a huge fan of Kylo and Luke's battle. I think that it would have been awesome to see Luke strike down Kylo and Kylo escape somehow. I wasn't a fan of how Luke wasn't actually there... I feel like if THAT was possible, then why didn't Yoda do it to fight Darth Vadar? Yoda was by far a stronger Jedi than Luke Skywalker - just sayin'.

Cinematically, the movie was amazing. The way Kylo killed Snoke and the battle that ensued against the royal guards was absolutely amazing and stunning. I also really enjoyed the way Admiral Holdo went out. I honestly thought that she was going to be a great leader (read the books, you'll understand) but I totally understand why she chose to do what she did. I'm also a huge fan of the way that they are adding humor to the movies. The opening scene of The Last Jedi, had me rolling even after seeing it for the third time.

In closing, yes, my list of things that I loved was way longer than the list of things that I disliked, but overall I would give the movie a 8/10. I definitely liked The Last Jedi more than The Force Awakens, but let me clear: NOTHING is beating the ending to Rouge One... the way they tied those two movies at the ending, and the CGI work still blow my mind.

So what do YOU think? Are you a fan of Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Do you agree with my review?
