Manasquan, Red Bank Grab Overall Top Seeds

The Manasquan boys and Red Bank Regional girls have received the top seeds in the 40th Annual WOBM Christmas Classic following Sunday's coaches meeting at the Office Restaurant & Lounge in Toms River.

The Warriors of coach Andrew Bilodeau earned the top seed following a 23-7 season and will begin play on Thursday, December 26 against #8 St. John Vianney (8:30pm) in the Jim Ruhnke Bracket which is where the top eight teams were placed.  In the other bracket games on that day #2 Central Regional will face 7th seeded Point Beach (5:30), 3rd seed Red Bank Catholic will oppose #6 Colts Neck (4pm) and #4 Donovan Catholic will meet defending champion and 5th seed Toms River North (7:00).  All of those games will be played in the RWJBarnabas Health Arena.

In the Steve Gepp bracket on the same day in the Toms River North gym #11 Manchester faces 14th seed Toms River South (4:00), 10th ranked Middletown North takes on #15 Toms River East (5:30), #12 Wall plays #13 Brick Memorial (7:00) and 9th ranked Freehold Township battles #16 Brick (8:30).

In the girls premier Ray Cervino bracket the defending champion Bucs of coach John Truhan will open play against #8 Manchester at 2:30pm in the arena.  2nd seed Rumson will open with #7 Central (11:30), 3rd ranked Point Boro takes on #6 Middletown North (10:00) and 4th seeded Brick meet #5 Middletown South at 1pm in the arena.

The Kathy Snyder bracket games on day one in the North gym find 11th seed Lacey playing #14 Toms River East at 10am followed by #10 Toms River North playing 15th seed Point Beach, Donovan Catholic the 12th seed opposing #13 Toms River South and 9th ranked Wall closing play against #16 Brick Memorial.

All the winners on opening day will advance to bracket semifinals on December 28th while the losers will play consolation games on December 27th. The finals are scheduled for Monday, December 30th.
