Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Drive-Through “PINK” Event
Another year we would be getting ready for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Pt. Pleasant Beach, but because of Covid-19, things are different this year this year.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and that will never change. Due to social distancing the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser will be something different this year. There are three ways you can still help and donate:
Pink your ride at the American Cancer Society's Jersey Shore Rolling Pep Rally this SUNDAY, October 18th, 2020. Included in this drive-through event is a Survivor Celebration and so much more.
*Raise funds and walk with your team in any neighborhood for the month of October.
*Something new and pretty cool this year, cityHunt experience, a next level scavenger hunt style activity to play outdoors with your team. CLICK here for more information on the scavenger hunt.
From the American Cancer Society.
“Due to COVID-19 and the related financial crisis, breast cancer research is at risk. If current trends continue, the Society will only be able to fund about half of what we invested in research last year. We have a bold vision – one in which our children no longer live with the threat of breast cancer,” said Chloe Lipman, executive director at the American Cancer Society. “This would be the lowest research investment in a generation. We can’t and won’t allow progress to be put on hold because of the pandemic.”
The American Cancer Society, just like many other fundraisers, are hurting this year.
