Macy’s Announces That It Will Close 125 Stores

Following hot on the heels of the announcement that the last Jersey Shore Kmart will be closing, news came out on Tuesday that Macy's will be closing 125 stores.

Business Insider reports that the iconic American department store chain will shutter around a fifth of its stores and will cut its corporate workforce by at least 2,000 people in a 3-year restructuring plan.

The announcement didn't reveal which stores will close, with the Miami Herald reporting that the 125 number represents, "...its least productive stores".

Currently, there are nearby Macy's locations at the Ocean County Mall, the Monmouth Mall, and the Freehold Raceway Mall.
