Ned Berwanger, Jr., 41, is wanted on charges of burglary, theft and credit card fraud. Police say they had him during a Friday predawn road stop on Serpentine Drive in Bayville, but amassed the evidence afterward.

Berwanger is suspected of rifling through unlocked cars in Bayville and also in Holiday City Berkeley for money, electronics, credit cards and debit cards through a span of several months.

Berwanger is still being sought, police said. A $25,000 warrant for his arrest was issued.

Berkeley Township Detective Sergeant Pete LaRocca and Detectives John Legg and Joe Santoro developed the investigation based on evidence arising after the stop by Patrolman Michael Bulwinski. Lacey Township PD Detective Lieutenant Chris Cornelius corroborated their findings.
