Lakehurst Police swear in new officer at ceremony

Lakehurst police welcome a new member to the force.

Officer Madelyn Waltz was sworn in at a council meeting Thursday night with her family and friends by her side.

Her mom held the bible during the official ceremony.

She most recently served on the force with Point Pleasant Beach Police.

Madelyn will now be assigned to a Field Training Officer for 12 weeks of field training.

"Congratulations to Officer Waltz and we wish her a long and safe career!!," Lakehurst Police said on Facebook.
