Kelly Clarkson Performs ‘Underneath the Tree’ on the ‘TODAY’ Show, Discusses Morning Sickness
Kelly Clarkson brought some Christmas cheer to the set of the 'TODAY' show this morning (Nov. 26), performing her latest single, 'Underneath the Tree.'
Clarkson was backed by a full band including horn section and backup singers for her performance of the festive tune, off her recently released holiday album, 'Wrapped in Red.' Clarkson was herself wrapped in red, wearing a short red dress and singing into a sparkly red microphone.
The singer, who is expecting her first child with new hubby Brandon Blackstock, also sat down with 'TODAY' co-host Savannah Guthrie to dish on her personal life. And things certainly did get personal, with Kelly revealing she's been having a rough start to the pregnancy.
"I don't know why they call it morning sickness -- that's my big joke right now -- 'cause it's like all day and all night," she said, smiling a huge smile nonetheless. "I am super excited about being pregnant, I'm just looking forward to the second trimester."
She also revealed details about her upcoming first-ever holiday TV special. Titled 'Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale,' it will feature both live performances and an accompanying story, which Kelly describes as a "diva version of 'Scrooge.'" 'TODAY' co-host Matt Lauer makes an appearance on the special, set to air Dec. 11 at 10PM ET on NBC.
