10 Jersey Shore Traditions That Never Go Out of Style
If you grew up in New Jersey, chances are you've spent more summer days at the Shore than you can count.

That's why it's easy to overlook how lucky we are.
For us, a quick trip to the beach might be a normal Saturday. For someone from the middle of the country, it's something they plan and save for all year. Sometimes it takes seeing visitors flood our beach towns every summer to realize just how special this place really is.
No matter how much changes from one season to the next, there are certain Jersey Shore traditions that never seem to lose their appeal.
Walking the Boardwalk With Absolutely No Plan
One of the best Shore activities costs nothing at all.
You start walking, maybe grab a slice of pizza, stop to watch the waves, check out a few shops, and before you know it, two hours have disappeared.
The boardwalk has always been less about where you're going and more about enjoying the moment.
Staying on the Beach Until You're Covered in Sand
Every family has done it.
You arrive thinking you'll stay for a couple of hours, and suddenly it's late afternoon, the cooler is empty, and somehow there's sand in places you didn't know sand could reach.
That's a successful beach day.
Getting Ice Cream Even Though You're Already Full
Nobody has ever said, "I'm too full for ice cream" at the Jersey Shore and actually meant it.
After dinner, everyone somehow finds room for a cone, sundae, or milkshake.
It's practically a Shore rule.
Looking for Seashells Like You're a Treasure Hunter
You might be 8 years old or 58 years old.
The second you spot an interesting shell along the waterline, you're picking it up.
Some habits never change.
Playing Mini Golf Like It's the Masters Tournament
What starts as a fun family activity somehow turns into a fierce competition.
People who haven't touched a golf club all year suddenly become experts when a mini golf scorecard is involved.
Riding Bikes Before the Crowds Wake Up
There are few things better than a quiet summer morning at the Shore.
The air feels different, the streets are calm, and for a little while it feels like the town belongs only to the early risers.
Watching the Sunrise and Remembering Why We Live Here
Most of us don't do it enough.
Then one morning we catch a sunrise over the Atlantic and remember why people travel hundreds of miles to experience what we often take for granted.
Going Fishing Even If You Don't Catch Anything
At the Shore, catching fish is sometimes secondary.
The real reward is spending a few hours near the water, enjoying the breeze, and sharing stories with whoever came along.
Listening to Music on a Warm Summer Night
Whether it's a local band, a beach concert, or music drifting from a boardwalk venue, summer nights always seem a little better when there's a soundtrack playing in the background.
Ending the Day by Saying, "Let's Come Back Tomorrow"
That's probably the most Jersey Shore tradition of all.
No matter how many summers we've spent here, we're always looking forward to the next beach day, the next boardwalk walk, and the next memory.
Why We Love New Jersey
The Jersey Shore isn't just where we spend our summers. It's part of who we are.
It's the backdrop to childhood memories, family vacations, first summer jobs, and traditions that get passed from one generation to the next.
