Jersey Jack Pinball in Lakewood has an interesting dilemma - how do you follow up two of the most iconic properties of all time, The Wizard of Oz and The Hobbit? Well, if you're them, you team up with one of the most iconic pinball designers of all time and go all in.

As part of my visit to the JJP factory in Lakewood yesterday, Jack let a bit of a tease slip.

It's actually kind of funny how it happened - as he was showing us the factory and we were talking about the first two well received games, he dropped a bomb about "Game 3".

Now, if you're not a hardcore "pinhead", you may not know the name Pat Lawlor. But if you played a pinball machine in the 90s, you've almost certainly played a game that he designed.

In fact, he designed the best selling pinball machine of all time - The Addams Family. He was also responsible for one of the most popular pinball machines, and one that holds up outstandingly well, even 23 years later - The Twilight Zone (which The Internet Pinball Database scores as an 8.4 out of 10).

The best way I can describe what this means to hardcore pinball fans would be like saying that Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are coming back to play another season for The Yankees.

And, as Jack describes in the video above, it's going to be an original concept. So not a license like the Wizard of Oz and The Hobbit were. So it'll be a totally new theme from one of the most well known pinball designers ever. Pretty cool stuff!

Of course, at this point all we know is exactly what you see in the video. It's a pretty shrewd tease, but one that will keep pinball fans excited and guessing until the official announcement is made.
