Jackson woman charged with attempted murder in stabbing incident
Jackson Police make quick work of an investigation into a stabbing on Wednesday where a woman needed emergency surgery for her injuries.
After police found the 20-year old with stab wounds to her chest at the Urgent Care in the Meridian Health Village on South Cooksbridge Road around 11:08 am, officers learned an altercation that had taken place between the victim and another woman at a home on Brookfield Drive.
The victim was later transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center where she underwent emergency surgery for her injuries.
Police Officers and Detectives then responded to the incident location on Brookfield Drive while other Detectives responded to the hospital to continue the investigation.
Officers then learned the name of the suspect who was not at the home when they got there.
Police found the weapon (a knife) used and arrested the suspect, 33-year old Brianna Hill-Mayweather, after she crashed her car on Route 70 in Lakewood.
Hill-Mayweather, was then charged with criminal attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
She was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
The investigation, lead by Jackson Police Detective Dominic Manion, is ongoing at this time.
