A Jackson Township man has passed away and two other people have been hospitalized for injuries sustained in a Friday night accident in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township around 7:58 pm.

Police said that the driver of a silver 2005 Honda Civic began to accelerate west after coming to a stop at the stop sign on Northampton Boulevard and went right into the path where a gray 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading north on Commonwealth Boulevard.

Both vehicles collided and were then forced off of the roadway.

Manchester Police said that George Hruszczak, 70, of Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering internal injuries while his passenger, 41-year-old Suzana Collazo of Jackson, needed to be extricated by the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department and was then flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by a Robert Wood Johnson Life Flight medevac helicopter.

She is currently listed in critical condition for internal and head injuries.

Police said Hruszczak and Collazo were both wearing their seat belts, and the airbags were not deployed.

Lois Genna, 28, of Manchester, who was driving the Jeep, was not wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
