A Pleasantville man is headed to prison on gun and drug charges in connection with several events going back as far as 2023.

This past Monday, 20-year-old Naeem Wilson was sentenced on third-degree possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, third-degree possession with the intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, and second-degree possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense.

Under the terms of his guilty plea, Wilson was sentenced to an aggregate term of five years in state prison, with a 3 1/2-year period of parole ineligibility.

Charges Tied to Pleasantville Investigation

These charges stem from a two-month narcotics investigation into Wilson and others who were selling narcotics out of the Main Street Market on the 100 block of N. Main Street in Pleasantville.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says that as state troopers attempted to execute a search warrant on April 5th of this year, Wilson attempted to flee on foot; however, he fell, and a handgun fell out of his waistband. As he tried climbing a fence, authorities were able to take him into custody.

A search yielded approximately four grams of crack cocaine, 51 green wax folds containing suspected heroin, and 10 white wax folds stamped "Magic" containing suspected heroin. The handgun that was found was reported to have been stolen out of Egg Harbor Township. The search occurred within 500 feet of the Pleasantville Housing Authority and 1,000 feet from the Washington Avenue Elementary School.

Stolen Vehicle Case From 2023

Wilson also pleaded guilty to third-degree theft based on a report of a stolen vehicle taken on July 17th, 2023. The vehicle owner's husband had live GPS tracking on the vehicle, as well as a photograph of the suspect taken from the on-board dash cam. Wilson was arrested by state troopers on August 2nd of that year, and he admitted to taking the Audi Q3. He also pleaded guilty to third-degree receiving stolen property and fourth-degree tampering as a result of the vehicle recovery.

Separate Weapons Case

Lastly, Wilson pleaded guilty to fourth-degree prohibited weapons stemming from an incident on February 9th, 2023, in which a search conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office of Wilson's home, in which a handgun that contained a large-capacity magazine was recovered.
