Groceries are more expensive now than they've been in my lifetime. It's a fact, and something most Americans are dealing with right now.

Every time I go into a ShopRite or a Stop and Shop for just a few things, it ends up being no less than $50.

Then, there are places like Lidl and Aldi.

Both of these places have exploded in popularity in the Garden State over the past few years, and for good reason; $100 worth of groceries from one of those discount grocers goes an incredibly long way.

We stocked up on meat, veggies, snacks, and some other essentials. A full week's worth of groceries and meals for an awesome price.

We've seen Aldi expand its presence in the Garden State

Now, Aldi is eyeing up its first location in Barnegat, as the discount grocer continues to grow.

According to Patch, Aldi is looking to open a new store at 10 Barnegat Boulevard, behind Walgreens.

What to Expect From the New Aldi in Barnegat

This is still in the planning phase, and permits and approvals are still needed, but it looks like this Aldi will feature several entrances off of Barnegat Boulevard and have a large parking lot.

Right now, Barnegat's main grocery store is Acme, and although I'm a big Acme fan, originally being from the Philadelphia area, you really can't compete with the prices at Aldi, so this will be a nice addition to the area.
