I don't claim to be psychic but I can predict that there will be a LOT of drones flying above us soon.  And I'm getting worried.   I fear that the untrained drone operators will cause accidents.  Can they just come down on someone's head without warning?  What if they crash into someone's car or house?  There's even a concern about privacy.  These drones are small enough to go through bedroom windows!.

A popular holiday gift item, drones are now required to be registered with the federal government.  https://www.faa.gov/news/press_releases/news_story.cfm?newsId=19856

While some folks think registration is another sign of "Big Government" or "Big Brother," I think it's a necessary requirement.  If there are accidents, there will be ways to track down the drone owners so they can take responsibility for any damage/injury they caused.

Another thing I'm upset about is the noise.  Will our quiet and peaceful environment turn into a place that buzzes and hums constantly?  The thought of that seriously gives me the willies.

I admit that I love the photos and videos that get taken by drones.  (Thanks, Justin!).  And the thought of Amazon's same day delivery via drone is quite intriguing, but I'm still worried about all the amateurs who will take to the skies in the coming weeks.

Do you think the popularity of drones will make Ocean County look like a scene in a Science Fiction Movie?  Or am I getting anxious over nothing?
