Food is always a popular topic, and here in New Jersey, we enjoy good food, at least most of us do lol. I came across a recent Buzzfeed.com article by Ryan Schocket, and I agree with a good portion of it. There are some "foods" that I don't think are real New Jersey foods, but I could be wrong lol

Here is a list of foods that are true "Jersey" favorites, and let's run down the Buzzfeed list, and after I'll show you the particular foods that I don't agree are a Garden State favorite.

  • Kohr's Ice Cream
  • Salt Water Taffy
  • Boardwalk Fries
  • Zeppoles
  • Sloppy Joe
  • Disco Fries
  • Wawa Hoagie
  • Anything From a Diner After Midnight
  • Italian Hot Dog
  • Fat Sandwich
  • Fried Oreos
  • Campbell's Soup
  • Waffles and Ice Cream
  • Texas Weiner (I'd Call "Chili Dog")
  • Anything Tastykake
  • Panzerotti
  • NJ Tomatoes "Jersey Tomatoes"

As for the list, I do agree with a lot of it however there is some of the list I would question as "Jersey Food".

  • Waffles and Ice Cream: Isn't that a Belgian thing?
  • Tastycake?
  • Fat Sandwich .... what?
  • Fried Oreos
