Hundreds Of Jared, Zales & Kay Jewelers Will Close Permanently
The post-coronavirus business landscape is continuing to evolve, as retailers around the world take stock of the toll that the shutdown has taken on business.
The latest major retailer to announce that hundreds of stores will not reopen is the parent company of Zales, Kay Jewelers, and Jared The Galleria of Jewelry.
With locations across the country, including throughout the Jersey Shore, Signet Jewelers said on Tuesday that they will not reopen 150 stores that were shut down when the coronavirus pandemic began, with another 150 closures expected to follow in the next few months.
Between Jared, Kay, and Zales, Signet has locations throughout the area:
Jared The Galleria of Jewelry
Jared has a pair of Monmouth County locations, outside of the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown and at the Freehold Raceway Mall.
Kay Jewelers
There are 4 Kay Jewelers locations in the Jersey Shore area; in Toms River at the Ocean County Mall, a store inside of the Monmouth Mall, a Freehold Raceway Mall location, and a store at the Lanes Mill Marketplace on Route 9 in Howell.
Zales
Zales operates a pair of Jersey Shore area stores, with an Ocean County Mall location and a store on the Howell/Freehold border on Route 9.
According to a report on USAToday, Signet Jewelers officials haven't yet released a list of which Jared, Kay, and Zales locations will either not reopen or will close in the coming months.
We'll keep you updated on what the jewelry store closures mean for Ocean and Monmouth Counties as soon as they release more information.
