The Amazing Hot Tuna Is Coming To New Jersey For A Fantastic Concert At The Count Basie Center For The Arts
Are you familiar with the band Hot Tuna? Hot Tuna started in the late ‘60s as a side project for Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady from Jefferson Airplane. It began with simple, acoustic blues jams and grew into a full band, later adding more of an electric blues-rock sound while building a loyal fan base along the way.

To me, if you’re into guitar-driven music, this is your kind of band. They’ve got a laid-back, rootsy vibe that can remind you a bit of Grateful Dead or even Bob Dylan at times. They are easygoing, a little gritty, and all about the feel.
I had a chance to talk with Jorma Kaukonen and reminisce about Airplane and Hot Tuna:
Hot Tuna is coming to The Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center For The Arts in Red Bank on Wednesday, August 5th. Tickets are on sale now.
Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center for the Arts is one of those classic Jersey venues that’s just always been part of the scene. It started out back in the 1920s as a movie theater, and over the years turned into a go-to spot for concerts, comedy, and live entertainment. It sits right in Red Bank and still has that old-school charm, even with some modern updates mixed in.
What's your favorite Hot Tuna tune? Do you have a favorite album? Looking forward to an acoustic evening with Hot Tuna coming up this summer in Red Bank.
